Description:

A Business Lawsuits & Transactions Law Firm is a boutique, full service commercial law firm of approximately 8 attorneys that focuses on both complex (a) commercial litigation in the state and federal courts and (b) commercial transactional matters. The firm's business clients range from individuals and small start-ups to multi-national companies. The position is based out of the firm's headquarters in Union, NJ though the firm also maintains offices in Manhattan, Philadelphia and Dallas.

Hybrid Work Arrangements: The firm offers work-from-home, hybrid and in-person arrangements to suit the needs of our attorneys. We are very flexible on that score.

Note: While admittedly much of current legal practice has become virtual, our attorneys must also be able to attend, for example, in-person court appearances, depositions, meetings and otherwise perform the work of an in-person commercial legal practice as defined by the needs of our clients and law firm

Training and Mentoring: Entering associates will typically be provided with a 2-4 week intensive training program overseen by our managing attorney.

The firm is committed to mentoring new associates in a collaborative and multi-layered manner respecting relatively all significant aspects of commercial practice. The purpose is to allow our new attorneys wide latitude to take on early responsibilities that will be challenging for them. This includes items such as handling:
  • motion hearings,
  • depositions,
  • status conferences,
  • strategy meetings with clients, and
  • ultimately, trials and appellate oral arguments.

In short, this is a job for people who want to accelerate their development as attorneys.

What Qualifies You:
  • JD Degree from an ABA accredited law school (Please Note: A Master of Laws degree that was earned instead of a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school is not a sufficient substitute.),
  • Judicial clerkship (preferred, but not required),
  • admission to the New Jersey bar (and the willingness to seek admission to others),
  • outstanding academic credentials,
  • at least one year of litigation experience, and
  • strong oral and written communication skills.
