Experienced Civil Litigation AttorneyOur busy law firm is growing and we are looking for talent that works hard to represent our clients well. The prime candidate will have at least 2 years of civil litigation experience and work seamlessly with both senior partners as well as administrative staff in an effort to effectively serve our clients. Responsibilities:
- Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
- Collaborate with clients, senior associates, and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently
- Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action
- Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
- Work closely with and provide leadership to administrative staff concerning client billing, client meetings, and invoicing, as well as finalizing client projects
- Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining a proper course of action
- Attend hearings and or other legal proceedings
- Spearhead strategy sessions with clients, associates, and paralegals to move cases toward resolution efficiently
- Quality Assure paralegal and associate work and filings
- Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff
- Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs
- Diligently manage case load, client meetings, billables, and finalized projects
- Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff
- Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
- Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of litigation experience
- Willing to obtain TBLS certification
- Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients
- Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
- Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam
- Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
- Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base
