Opportunity Summary
We are a small law firm located in Central Contra Costa County providing our clients with expertise in business transactional matters with a high level of responsiveness and reliability. Applicants should possess 15+ years of experience in business transactional law.

The independent contractor will work part-time, initially 5 hours per week, then increasing to 10-15 hours per week as the relationship builds. The rate for this position is $185/hour. While working remotely is available, routine visits to the office will be required.

Attorney Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of agreements including leases, buy/sell agreements, shareholder agreements, operating agreements, employment contracts and product/service contracts.
  • Form business entities.
  • Advise clients on a variety of issues, including corporate governance, labor/employment and entity formation.
  • Identify and consult on legal risks and their mitigation.
  • Analyze, investigate and help resolve business disputes.
  • Assist in mergers and acquisitions.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant business transactional experience, ideally including securities.
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school and admission in good standing to the CA state bar.
  • Efficient work ethic and high degree of professionalism, accountability, independence and integrity.
  • Ambitious and commitment-oriented.
  • Strong understanding of the interplay between legal and business risks.
