Opportunity SummaryWe are a small law firm located in Central Contra Costa County providing our clients with expertise in business transactional matters with a high level of responsiveness and reliability. Applicants should possess 15+ years of experience in business transactional law.
The independent contractor will work part-time, initially 5 hours per week, then increasing to 10-15 hours per week as the relationship builds. The rate for this position is $185/hour. While working remotely is available, routine visits to the office will be required.
Attorney Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of agreements including leases, buy/sell agreements, shareholder agreements, operating agreements, employment contracts and product/service contracts.
- Form business entities.
- Advise clients on a variety of issues, including corporate governance, labor/employment and entity formation.
- Identify and consult on legal risks and their mitigation.
- Analyze, investigate and help resolve business disputes.
- Assist in mergers and acquisitions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant business transactional experience, ideally including securities.
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school and admission in good standing to the CA state bar.
- Efficient work ethic and high degree of professionalism, accountability, independence and integrity.
- Ambitious and commitment-oriented.
- Strong understanding of the interplay between legal and business risks.
