Job Description:The Charlotte office of McGuireWoods seeks an Associate to join its Business Tax Group.
Our transactional tax lawyers structure transactions to reduce tax liabilities and ensure compliance with evolving tax laws. We advise on tax issues in sophisticated financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, buyouts, restructurings, innovative leasing, financings, real estate, joint ventures, fund formation, and inbound and outbound international investments. The firm handles debt instruments, swap transactions, and other debt and equity derivatives and we assist clients in identifying and leveraging tax credits and incentives to maximize available benefits.

- Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience as a tax associate in a law firm and be able to work in a high paced environment with multiple ongoing transactions.
- The associate will work with McGuireWoods' transactional tax lawyers to assist clients with issues relating to the tax aspects of business transactions, such as advising clients on sophisticated transactions, including taxable and tax-free mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, tax credits, fund formations and inbound and outbound international investments.
- Excellent academic credentials, including an LL.M. in taxation, is required.
