A Debt Collection Law Firm serves individuals and businesses through three unique, yet complementary divisions. We represent a variety of clients across a series of practice groups: Banking and Finance, Business Litigation, Corporate and Estate Planning, Commercial Real Estate and Family Law. This Business Litigation Attorney position will be housed in our renowned Business Litigation Group, and it will focus largely on bankruptcy and creditor remedies.

Position Details:
We are looking for an experienced Business Litigation Attorney with a blended background in both bankruptcy and creditor remedies to join our Litigation department. The successful candidate must have an exceptional background in bankruptcy, creditor remedies, and commercial/business litigation. Must have strong legal research, writing, and critical thinking ability; excellent verbal and written advocacy at motion hearings and trial; and the capacity to organize, prioritize, and multi-task. Must have a minimum of five (5) years bankruptcy, creditor remedies, and commercial litigation experience, with the ability to focus on business development success.

Requirements:
  • Five years of experience with dealing with complex business litigation with an emphasis in bankruptcy, creditor remedies, and business matters in bankruptcy, federal and state court actions
  • Experience representing financial institutions regarding bankruptcy and creditor rights remedies disputes, recovering funds and assets.
  • Experience and advocacy in the bankruptcy courts and proficiency with the bankruptcy code and rules.
  • Experience conducting discovery, including written discovery and depositions discovery
  • Experience mediating and negotiating workouts and case settlements
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs and other legal documents
  • Must have very strong legal writing and analytical analytical skills
