Summary:This position is located in the Regulations Division within the Office of Legislation and Regulations, which is part of the Office of General Counsel.

As a Attorney-Advisor (General), you will:
- Draft, review, and analyze complex regulations necessary to implement the programs and policies of the Department.
- Resolve policy issues and legal or technical concerns that arise in the course of drafting a regulation.
- Analyze and summarize public comments on proposed regulations.
- Assure that proposed rules, regulations, and Federal Register notices are drafted in proper form for publication, that they are consistent with statutes and the legislative history of statutes affecting HUD programs, and that they comply with the requirements of the Federal Register Act, the requirements and policies of the Secretary, the Administrative Procedure Act, Executive Order 12866 and section 7(o) of the Department of HUD Act, and other applicable statutes or regulations.

- Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- A 2-year trial period is required. (unless already completed) Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency
