Job Summary:Kutak Rock LLP seeks an Attorney to join the Public Finance practice in the firm's Ohio offices. This dynamic role is ideal for an experienced attorney with an interest in the continued development of their knowledge and skills in public finance transactions with an economic development focus while working closely with experienced partners and clients.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the lifecycle of conduit bond financings from term sheet to post-closing, including drafting relevant documents, negotiating with opposing counsel, coordinating diligence review, managing pricing, closing and post-closing logistics
- Draft and negotiate a wide variety of documents related to economic development proceedings and transactions, including legislation, trust indentures, development agreements, cooperative agreements, leases and other real estate related documentation
- Advise and counsel clients on the structuring of economic development tools and their related financings
- Conduct financing transaction due diligence such as organizational documents, title and survey, insurance certificates and other diligence review
- Demonstrate commitment to achieving the goals of Firm clients
Qualifications: Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and experience managing general obligation and revenue bond transactions, experience with economic development and conduit bond transactions is preferred
- Knowledge of Ohio port authority capacities and transactions
- Knowledge and experience in tax increment financing proceedings and transactions
- Knowledge of Ohio new community authority capacities and transactions
- Proficient in reviewing and drafting legislation for Ohio municipalities, port authorities and other public entities
- Knowledge of title and survey review and other real estate/finance diligence documents
- Strong organizational and matter management skills
- Work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to apply critical thinking and possess a high attention to detail
- Work professionally and collaboratively with partners, associates, and support staff
- Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills
- Self-motivated and proactive with a strong work ethic
- Ability and confidence to work independently or collaboratively pursuant to the needs of the individual project
- Strong desire to learn and develop superior drafting and negotiating skills
- Understanding of various business and governmental entities
Qualifications: Education and Experience
Must be currently admitted to practice in the Ohio with an active bar license in good standing or able to be admitted within the first year of employment
Four or more years' experience as a public finance attorney, experience with economic development transactions, including port authorities, new community authorities, tax-exempt financings
Position Information:
- Status: Exempt
- Salary Range: $175,000-$200,000 annual base salary, commensurate with experience and expertise, plus annual discretionary bonus
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid, Preference is given to candidates in the Columbus area, but candidates across Ohio are encouraged to apply. Remote candidates may also be considered
