Full Job Description:
Our Dallas-based law firm is seeking a dedicated and career-minded attorney to join our probate, trusts, and estates team. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong litigation experience who are looking to expand their skill set into probate and estate-related matters within an established practice. While this role will primarily involve uncontested probate matters, including applications for the administration of intestate estates, the position also includes support in contested probate and guardianship cases and other litigation matters, depending on the candidate's level of experience. We work closely with some of Texas' most respected personal injury trial lawyers, assisting families with probate matters following the loss of a loved one due to negligence. Prior probate experience is beneficial but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate with solid litigation experience who is interested in building a long-term role within our probate and litigation team.

The ideal candidate should be extremely organized and also enjoy interacting with clients and lawyers to obtain information needed to prepare pleadings, draft documents, contact and interact with court personnel, and practice in state court. He or she should have an aptitude for the written word, client interaction, and organization skills to handle a moderate docket with changing deadlines. Being self-sufficient, proactive, and having initiative are necessary traits.

We offer a friendly, fast-paced work environment with benefits. Benefits include class A office space, on-site gym, free garage parking, walkable to restaurants and other amenities. Base salary of $100,000 to $130,000 based on experience plus discretionary bonuses depending on both individual and firm performance.

The position involves drafting and filing applications for probate, inventories, accountings, motions (and responses), letters, and other case-related documents and appearing at hearings. The position also involves reviewing and summarizing documents and records, coordinating with clients and personal injury counsel, and courts.

If you are interested, please upload your resume, a cover letter, a writing sample (5 pages or more preferable with legal citations), and your salary requirements. Selected candidates will be provided with an application to complete prior to being interviewed.

This position is best suited for someone who is:
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized – Can manage deadlines and a moderate to large docket
  • Client-focused – Enjoys working with families during sensitive legal matters
  • Strong writer – Has experience drafting legal documents and motions
  • Self-sufficient and proactive – Takes initiative with minimal supervision
