Job Description:
The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) has an opening for an attorney in the Field Legal Program Unit (FLPU). The attorney reports to the Field Legal Program unit chief, Training & Field Legal section, in the Investigative and Administrative Law Branch (IALB).

The selectee will be responsible for assisting the unit chief with implementing the provisions of the Field Legal Policy and Legal Training and with 1) providing management and oversight to the field legal program to ensure consistency and cohesiveness across the field offices and Headquarters; 2) developing policy, standards, and training for the field legal personnel; 3) soliciting input from the Chief Division Counsel Advisory Committee (CDCAC) on behalf of the Chief Division Counsel (CDC)/Associate Division Counsel (ADC) community regarding operational and administrative issues and policies affecting the CDC Program; 4) coordinating and scheduling relevant legal training programs for the CDC/ADC community to include the Annual All FBI Legal and Paralegal Specialist Conferences and mandatory legal training; 5) scheduling and overseeing the Basic Legal Advisor's Certification Course; and 6) coordinating budgeting and temporary duty assignment details with the CDCAC and IALB.

Qualifications:
Multiple Programs Demonstrated experience in the successful investigation or management of complex matters in a position which includes responsibilities in more than one investigative program category.

Legal Experience Have (6) six or more years post JD legal experience internal or external to the Bureau

Mandatory Qualifications
  • Coordinating with Human Resources Division (HRD) to ensure that field divisions are staffed to address critical legal needs;
  • Chairing the Chief Division Counsel (CDC)/ Associate Division Counsel (ADC) Program Career Boards;
  • Soliciting input from the Chief Division Counsel Advisory Committee (CDCAC) on behalf of the Chief Division Counsel (CDC)/ Associate Division Counsel (ADC) Community regarding operational and administrative issues and policies affecting the CDC Program, and
  • Coordinating budget and Temporary Duty assignment details with the Chief Division Counsel Advisory Committee (CDCAC) and Office of General Counsel (OGC) Chief of Staff
  • Reviewing and evaluating the current curriculum and assist in developing a robust training program for the CDC, ADC, and Paralegal Specialists (PLS)
