Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction Management: Lead, manage, and facilitate all phases of commercial and/or residential real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing.
- Contract Drafting & Review: Draft, review, and negotiate various real estate documents, including purchase and sale agreements, leases (commercial and residential), deeds, mortgages, and joint venture agreements.
- Due Diligence: Conduct and oversee thorough due diligence, including title examinations, survey reviews, and environmental assessments, identifying and mitigating potential legal risks.
- Legal Counsel: Advise clients (individuals, businesses, or developers) on legal rights, obligations, and risks related to property ownership, development, and use.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all transactions and development projects comply with local, state, and federal real estate laws, zoning ordinances, land use regulations, and environmental codes.
- Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Represent clients in litigation and mediation, concerning real estate disputes, such as title defects, boundary disputes, landlord-tenant issues, and breach of contract.
- Closing & Title: Manage closing processes, ensuring the proper execution and recording of all legal documents and handling all title curative matters.
- Research & Advisory: Perform comprehensive legal research and prepare legal opinions and memoranda on complex real estate law issues.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Texas.
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
- Compassionate and client-focused approach.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Expert-level knowledge of real estate law, including transactions, financing, and litigation procedures.
- Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and interpret complex legal agreements.
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive legal research.
- Familiarity with title insurance underwriting and curative processes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including clear and concise client advisory abilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a demanding caseload and meet deadlines.
