This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced personal injury attorney who is ready to take ownership of cases, handle meaningful client interactions, and play a key role in a growing plaintiff's personal injury practice. The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation experience, sound judgment, and the ability to manage cases independently while working collaboratively with a talented legal team.
We welcome candidates with experience on either the plaintiff or defense side of personal injury litigation. Defense attorneys looking to transition to the plaintiff side are encouraged to apply.
About the role:
You will take an active role in managing and litigating a diverse caseload of personal injury matters, working collaboratively with the firm's legal team while exercising independent judgment and ownership of your cases. The ideal candidate will have substantial personal injury experience on either the plaintiff or defense side and be prepared to make an immediate contribution to the firm's growing practice.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of personal injury matters independently, from intake through settlement
- Communicate regularly with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, and opposing counsel
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Review and analyze medical records, bills, and other case-related documentation
- Manage discovery, depositions, negotiations, and settlement preparation
- Lead cases through litigation and trial
- Attend court conferences, appearances, depositions, and other proceedings as needed
- Work collaboratively with paralegals, case managers, and other members of the legal team
- Maintain accurate and timely case files and meet deadlines
- Provide responsive, professional, and compassionate service to clients
Qualifications:
- Admitted and in good standing to practice law in New York
- At least 5 years of personal injury experience, either on the plaintiff or defense side
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional, proactive, and team-oriented attitude
- Genuine interest in helping injured clients and advocating for their rights
