Duties:
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance on various practice areas including estate planning, landlord-tenant law, family law, personal injury law, & general civil litigation.
- Conduct thorough legal research utilizing tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development and legal analysis.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of legal documents including contracts, pleadings, agreements, and memoranda with precision and clarity.
- Manage litigation processes from inception through resolution by coordinating with clients, witnesses, experts, and external counsel.
- Assist clients in estate planning strategies to optimize asset distribution while ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
- Handle landlord-tenant disputes by providing legal counsel on lease agreements, eviction processes, and dispute resolution.
- Offer counsel on family law matters such as divorce, custody, and support issues with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Represent clients in personal injury cases by assessing claims, preparing litigation strategies, and advocating effectively in court.
- Represent Clients in minor criminal cases including traffic and DUI/ DWI.
- Engage in active litigation activities including discovery, depositions, court appearances, and settlement negotiations.
- Utilize legal research platforms like LexisNexis and Westlaw for case law updates and precedent analysis.
- Maintain meticulous records of all case activities and correspondence to ensure compliance with firm policies and legal standards.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver comprehensive legal solutions aligned with organizational goals.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school required; admission to the bar in relevant jurisdiction is mandatory.
- Must bill 2,000 hours annually
- Proven experience practicing in multiple areas of law including estate planning, landlord-tenant law, family law, personal injury law, general civil litigation and/ or minor criminal.
- Exceptional research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms to gather pertinent legal information efficiently.
- Strong writing skills demonstrated through clear drafting of legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, memoranda, and correspondence.
- Excellent negotiation abilities capable of facilitating favorable outcomes for clients or the organization.
- Legal administrative experience managing case files, court filings, deadlines and maintaining detailed records effectively.
- Ability to interpret complex laws and regulations accurately while providing practical advice tailored to client needs or organizational objectives.
- Effective communication skills essential for liaising with clients, colleagues or external stakeholders in a professional manner.
