Job Description:This position is responsible for conducting legal research and providing analysis, counsel, and representation for the Office of the State Courts Administrator (OSCA), the Florida Supreme Court, and other entities within the Florida State Courts System (SCS). The position duties generally operate within the following subject matter areas: garnishment proceedings; rule petitions; public records requests; staff legal representation; contract review; and Court Interpreter Certification and Regulation Program. This entry-level position reports directly to the OSCA General and performs other tasks or legal assignments as directed by the General Counsel, the State Courts Administrator, or the Florida Supreme Court.
Examples of Work:
- Provide legal support to Court programs, committees, or forums as assigned.
- Conduct legal research and provide appropriate correspondence.
- Provide counsel and guidance to the Office of the State Courts Administrator, Florida Supreme Court, and other Courts within the State Courts System on employee and branch-related ethics matters.
- Monitor and analyze civil and branch-related legislation.
- Coordinate fulfilling public records requests.
Education and Training Guidelines:
A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is required for this position. This position also requires membership in good standing with The Florida Bar within twelve (12) months of appointment.

- Skill in analyzing legal issues and applying legal principles to facts.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly in both oral and written form.
