Special Education Attorney – New York, NY
Salary: From $80,000 per year | Full-Time | In-Person

The Law Offices of Neal H. Rosenberg, a respected firm dedicated to advocating for families of children with special needs since 1979, is seeking a Special Education Attorney to join our team. Our practice focuses on representing parents throughout New York State as they navigate the complex legal processes involved in securing appropriate educational programs and services for their children.

The ideal candidate is passionate about education and disability rights, comfortable managing a caseload independently, and committed to providing high-quality legal advocacy under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and related civil rights laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct client interviews and maintain strong client communication
  • Represent clients in impartial hearings, court proceedings, and before governmental agencies
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including requests, disclosures, and settlement agreements
  • Negotiate settlements and engage in resolution efforts
  • Ensure compliance with all legal standards, deadlines, and procedural requirements
  • Perform administrative and practice-management tasks associated with an active caseload

Qualifications:
  • Admission to the New York State Bar prior to January 1, 2026
  • Strong analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients, families, and other stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently
  • Ability and availability to work on-site at our office located at in the Financial District of New York City.
