Job Summary:We have a position open for a Louisiana and/or Mississippi licensed attorney to join our litigation team. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of two to ten years' experience working in insurance defense litigation.
Duties:
- Conduct in-depth legal research using Westlaw to support case preparation and legal analysis.
- Draft and review a variety of legal documents.
- Negotiate settlements and agreements with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Represent clients in litigation proceedings, administrative hearings, and negotiations with confidence and professionalism.
- Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines efficiently within a busy law office environment.
- Stay current on relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide timely updates to clients and team members.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active licensure to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience in defense litigation.
- Excellent legal writing skills with the ability to produce clear and persuasive documents.
- Demonstrated ability in legal drafting and negotiation with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of litigation procedures and experience representing clients in court or administrative hearings is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
