Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in various areas of law, including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, and family law. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and the ability to handle complex legal matters with professionalism and integrity. The Attorney will be responsible for providing legal advice, representing clients in court, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel to clients on a range of issues including estate planning, landlord-tenant disputes, personal injury claims, and workers' compensation cases.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Draft legal documents, contracts, and agreements with precision to ensure clarity and compliance with applicable laws.
- Represent clients in litigation proceedings, negotiations, and mediations effectively advocating for their interests.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting practice areas including tribal law & regulations and securities law.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services.
- Maintain organized case files and documentation while ensuring confidentiality of client information.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar association; active license to practice law is required.
- Proven experience in one or more areas of law such as environmental law, immigration law, family law, or patent law is preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful outcomes in litigation or mediation settings.
- Excellent writing skills with experience in legal drafting and documentation.
- Familiarity with legal research methodologies and tools including LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Prior experience in a law office setting is highly desirable; legal administrative experience is a plus.
