Community Association Law Practice Group - General Counsel & Dispute Resolution for Condominium and Homeowner Associations

The successful candidate will work primarily with our Community Association Law Team, assisting our condominium and homeowner association clients with general counsel, transactions, and dispute resolution.

Work Location:
The successful candidate will have the option to work entirely remotely, on-site at our Ft. Lauderdale office, or on a hybrid arrangement. The candidate must

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Interact with clients, community association managers and opposing counsel.
  • Attend (usually virtually) condominium and homeowner association board meetings.
  • Provide verbal and written advice to association directors on compliance with Florida laws and the associations' governing documents.
  • Draft and review contracts.
  • Draft amendments to declarations, articles, and bylaws.
  • Advise clients on dispute resolution.
  • Prepare for and appear at pre-suit mediations on behalf of clients.
  • Initiate and prosecute actions for violations of community governing documents.
  • Prepare and respond to DBPR arbitration petitions and hearings.
  • Teach courses to community association managers and directors on current legal issues relevant to condominium and homeowner associations.

Required Skills:
  • Must be a member of The Florida Bar in Good Standing (or sitting for July 2024 exam).

Special Note for Experienced Attorneys:
Although seeking a newer attorney, we are open to hiring a lateral experienced attorney with a book of business. Salary negotiable depending on book.

License/Certification:
