Description:

Small boutique law firm in downtown Columbus, Ohio is seeking an attorney to join its established and successful practice. This position offers substantial responsibility, direct client contact, litigation and hearing experience, flexibility to develop areas of personal interest, and a potential path to firm leadership and equity ownership.

The Opportunity:
Our firm has been operating for 19 years and represents individuals, healthcare providers, and businesses. Our primary practice areas include healthcare law, professional-license defense, administrative law, disability & civil cases.

The firm receives a steady flow of prospective-client inquiries and currently refers many matters to other firms because of limited attorney capacity. In addition to working in our established practice areas, the new attorney may accept appropriate cases in other areas of law providing an opportunity to develop their own practice within an established firm.

We provide mentorship without micromanagement and are looking for an attorney who wants autonomy, responsibility, and the opportunity to build a thriving practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct client consultations and evaluate prospective matters.
  • Manage attorney-client relationships and communicate directly with clients.
  • Develop case strategy and independently manage cases and deadlines.
  • Represent physicians, nurses, dentists, therapists, and other licensed professionals.
  • Handle administrative, civil, disability, and other matters.
  • Assist in the continued growth of the firm's disability practice, including intake and hearings.
  • Build and grow practice areas using the firm's existing infrastructure, reputation, and client flow.

Who we are looking for:
We are more interested in finding the right attorney who is committed to long-term independence and success rather than someone with a particular number of years in practice.

The ideal candidate is intelligent, motivated, entrepreneurial, personable, and ready to assume increasing responsibility. Strong analytical, writing, advocacy, organizational, and communication skills are important.

Experience in healthcare law, administrative law, professional licensure, civil litigation, disability, or another substantive practice area is helpful but not required. We are willing to train an exceptional attorney who wants to develop expertise and practice with substantial independence.

An Ohio law license in good standing is required.

Compensation, Flexibility & Long-Term Opportunity
Compensation will be highly competitive and commensurate with experience, consisting of base compensation plus monthly bonuses tied to performance, responsibility, and practice development.

You will have a private office and flexibility to set your own schedule. We offer substantial professional autonomy, with corresponding expectations of high performance, responsiveness, and accountability.

For the right attorney, this position offers a genuine path to firm leadership and potentially equity ownership in the firm.

We are looking for someone who ultimately wants more than a job who wants to build a practice, help grow a firm, and potentially become an owner.
