Job Summary: Jackson Lewis is seeking a seasoned attorney to join our nationally recognized Attorney Coach and Trainer Program. This role is dedicated to elevating legal writing across the firm and providing strategic litigation coaching. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in employment litigation and a passion for developing attorneys through writing instruction, litigation strategy guidance, and personalized coaching.

Essential Functions:
  • Design and deliver legal writing content for firm-wide programs including the Summer Associate Academy, New Law Graduate Program, and state-specific initiatives.
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions to review and enhance attorney work product, focusing on clarity, structure, and strategic alignment.
  • Develop and maintain templates and standards for writing “the Jackson Lewis Way,” promoting plain English and fact-driven advocacy.
  • Lead webinars and workshops on legal writing, both remotely and in-person.
  • Provide strategic guidance on pleadings, motions, and procedural requirements, demonstrating fluency in civil procedure.
  • Support attorneys in aligning written work product with litigation strategy and client objectives.
  • Collaborate with Practice Group Leaders and Subject Matter Experts to identify training needs and develop targeted litigation support resources.
  • Mentor other Attorney Coaches and Trainers in writing instruction and coaching techniques.
  • Partner with the Learning & Professional Development Team, Talent Development, and Knowledge Management to assess performance and evolve training strategies.
  • Assist with firmwide rollouts of legal software and contribute to tech-enhanced learning initiatives.

Qualifications/Skills Required:
  • Demonstrated excellence in legal writing, with authored motions or teaching experience.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills, including remote and in-person delivery.
  • Proven ability to coach attorneys and manage multiple projects independently.
  • Familiarity with instructional design, adult learning principles, and online learning platforms (e.g., Teams, LMS tools).
  • Creative, collaborative, and service-oriented mindset.
  • Creative, personable, and service-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to changing needs.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite and familiarity with online training platforms, such as Teams. AI experience is a plus.

Preferred Qualification/ Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of labor and employment law.
  • Experience with Class Action cases.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms, instructional design software, and AI tools.

Education/Experience:
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Labor and Employment Law Attorney.
  • J.D. required. Licensed to practice law in US.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $165,000 and $185,000. This position is also eligible for annual bonuses. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

For New York City Metro area, the expected salary range for this position is between $165,000 and $185,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
