Job Description:Kenney Shelton Liptak Nowak LLP (“KSLN”) is a mid-sized New York-based law firm with offices throughout NYS. Our growing Civil Litigation Practice Group is looking for a talented, motivated attorney who wants to build a long-term career in insurance defense and civil litigation. We are seeking an ideal candidate who demonstrates outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to provide exceptional service to our clients.
The attorney will manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense and general civil litigation matters, including:
- Personal injury
- Premises liability
- Automobile liability
- Construction-related claims
- General liability matters
- New York Labor Law matters
- Responsibilities will include case evaluation and strategy, written discovery, pleadings, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation and/or trial. A solid understanding of New York Labor Law is important, as the attorney will support our broader general defense practice.
Compensation & Flexibility
Salary: $85,000–$165,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the level of responsibility the candidate can assume. Candidates with an established book of business may be considered for additional compensation opportunities.
This is a full-time, flexible hybrid position designed to support productivity, collaboration, team priorities, and work-life balance. You can live anywhere in the United States, provided you are licensed to practice law in New York State.

Requirements:
- Attorney: 1-7+ years
- 1+ years of broad-based litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense
- Member of the NY bar in good standing
- Experience with New York Civil Practice
- Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills
- Experience with written discovery, motion practice, drafting motions and pleadings, independently conducting depositions, and trial preparation
- Excellent references
