What Will You Do?An Insurance Company is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel to provide timely legal counsel and advice regarding IT contracts, vendor agreements, software audits, dispute resolution, and other legal projects as needed. This role is mainly responsible for transactional legal advising and contract review. This position requires an individual with strong communication and relationship building skills in a fast paced, customer-focused environment.
Responsibilities also include:
- Interpret and provide counsel to internal business and functional partners regarding contractual obligations and requirements of applicable law and regulations.
- Draft, edit and/or review contracts and other legal documents.
- Research, draft and prepare written memoranda regarding various legal matters.
- Assist other attorneys with matters involving non-claims litigation and other legal projects.
- Provide legal counsel and advice to internal clients regarding various legal and compliance issues.
- Communicate the Companies' legal position via good written and oral communication skills.
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor and current license to practice law in Minnesota.
- Ability to handle high work volume and exercise judgment to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to read, analyze, understand and interpret complex legal and business documents.
- Unquestioned ability to retain confidential business and/or personnel information.
