We are expanding our in-house legal team and are seeking a mid-level attorney to join as Associate Legal Counsel with a concentration in healthcare regulatory law and employment law. This is an exciting opportunity to provide proactive legal support on issues that impact both our clinical and corporate operations.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Associate Legal Counsel will support a broad range of legal matters across the organization, with emphasis on:
  • Healthcare regulatory compliance
  • Florida employment and labor law
  • Contract drafting and negotiation
  • Risk management and internal investigations

The ideal candidate has at least 3–6 years of legal experience, preferably in a healthcare provider or law firm environment, and thrives in a dynamic, mission-driven, and collaborative workplace.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise on a wide range of employment law issues, including employee relations, wage & hour, ADA, FMLA, disciplinary actions, terminations, discrimination claims, and employment policy development.
  • Provide legal guidance on healthcare regulatory issues such as HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, Medicare/Medicaid billing, licensure, and compliance with CMS and AHCA requirements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including physician contracts, business associate agreements, employment agreements, vendor and IT contracts, and clinical service agreements.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Compliance, Risk, and Clinical Leadership on internal investigations, audits, and disciplinary matters.
  • Assist in managing outside counsel and litigation strategies in employment-related or regulatory matters.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes in healthcare and employment law that impact hospital and health system operations.
  • Conduct legal training for HR, management, and operational leaders on relevant legal and compliance topics.
  • Promote a culture of ethical conduct, legal compliance, and patient safety.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the Florida Bar (in good standing)
  • 3–6 years of relevant legal experience in healthcare and/or employment law; prior in-house or healthcare system experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of Florida and federal employment law, including Title VII, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, and whistleblower protections
  • Working knowledge of healthcare compliance frameworks, including HIPAA, Stark, Anti-Kickback, and CMS conditions of participation
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build strong internal relationships
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range (Orlando / Central Florida): $100,000 – $140,000, depending on experience and qualifications

Based on industry benchmarks and Florida market data for in-house counsel in healthcare systems with 3–6 years of experience.
