An American Lifestyle Retailer seeks a talented individual to assume a key role within our organization. This role will assist the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer (“CECO”) in developing, implementing, and documenting A&F's worldwide corporate compliance program.This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Support CECO in managing enterprise-wide Third-Party Risk Management program vetting potential vendors, including the following: system and process enhancements; developing and conducting training for responsible stakeholders worldwide; working closely with Procurement and relationship owners on vendor onboarding; and continually seeking innovative ways to integrate with the overall vendor life cycle
- Enhance cross-functional accountability through training and enforcement of A&F's Anti-Corruption Compliance Program, including the following: conducting due diligence on vendors; leading investigations into potential Anti-Corruption and Gift & Entertainment Policy violations; implementing contracting and monitoring procedures for A&F's new and existing vendors; also developing, conducting, and tracking of Anti-Corruption Training for associates and vendors worldwide
- Assist CECO in overseeing A&F's investigations process, including the following: A&F's Ethics Hotline; tracking, routing, and monitoring of all reports (hotline and non-hotline) from intake through resolution; developing, implementing, and training on investigations procedures; promotion, maintenance, and continued enhancement of the Ethics Hotline; and the development of hotline metrics and dashboards
- Assist CECO in day-to-day responsibility for A&F's Associate compliance training initiatives, including the development, distribution, and tracking of Associate compliance training, as well as maintaining, updating, and communicating all Compliance policies
- Partner with the CECO to maintain global compliance with the Abercrombie & Fitch's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
- Work on cross-functional projects with other departments such as Human Resources, Asset Protection, Stores, etc. to support various compliance-related projects and initiatives
- Promote a “Speak Up” culture at A&F through development and delivery of communications and training to associates globally
- Develop, draft, implement & maintain new risk escalation and compliance reporting policies and procedures
- Assist CECO on other projects and matters as needed
- Juris Doctor degree required, or related experience
- 3-6 years' experience in a corporate legal environment, with experience in regulatory compliance, training, risk assessment, and risk mitigation
- Excellent written and in-person communication skills
- Excellent project management capabilities, including the demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and drive projects to conclusion
- Highly organized self-starter, able to build and document sustainable processes and ensure timely completion of departmental projects
- Ability to work collaboratively and openly with cross-functional business partners in a non-hierarchical business environment
- Provide a creative approach to problem solving with a humble, optimistic & team-first attitude
- Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
- Global understanding of cultural differences; experience traveling and/or working abroad, and foreign language ability preferred
- Retail or manufacturing experience preferred
