The firm values professionalism, integrity, and client-centered service, offering opportunities for growth and meaningful impact in the community.Role Description The Associate Immigration Attorney is a full-time, on-site role based in Miami, FL. This position involves managing a caseload of immigration matters, including:
- Handle aspects of removal proceedings
- Conduct consultations with potential clients to assess their legal needs
- Draft and manage asylum petitions
- Prepare and file family-based petitions
- Review immigration applications/packets and make any necessary adjustments
- Knowledge of immigration concepts and strategic solutions
- Prepare and submitting legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases
- Collaborate with colleagues on cases involving family reunification, asylum, or deportation defense
- Use case management system/database, various firm systems, and project management skills to monitor case milestones, follow up with clients, and meet both legal and client-relations deadlines
- Exercise meticulous attention to detail to produce error-free forms, correspondence, and related legal work product
- Prepare and represent clients at USCIS interviews
- Other tasks as required to meet client and firm needs
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar admission in any U.S. state (Florida admission preferred).
- Ability to analyze complex immigration matters and develop effective legal strategies independently.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an office environment and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
- Minimum 4 - 5 years in immigration law and related legal issues, in a multi-attorney or high-volume practice.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Strong command of family-based, asylum, removal defense, and waiver matters
- Strong legal writing and courtroom advocacy skills
- Experience with detained cases and removal defense strongly preferred
- Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
- Clear, confident communication skills with clients and colleagues
- A calm, solutions-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Federal litigation experience a plus
- Federal Habeas Corpus litigation experience a plus
