Role Description The Associate Immigration Attorney is a full-time, on-site role based in Miami, FL. This position involves managing a caseload of immigration matters, including:
  • Handle aspects of removal proceedings
  • Conduct consultations with potential clients to assess their legal needs
  • Draft and manage asylum petitions
  • Prepare and file family-based petitions
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make any necessary adjustments
  • Knowledge of immigration concepts and strategic solutions
  • Prepare and submitting legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases
  • Collaborate with colleagues on cases involving family reunification, asylum, or deportation defense
  • Use case management system/database, various firm systems, and project management skills to monitor case milestones, follow up with clients, and meet both legal and client-relations deadlines
  • Exercise meticulous attention to detail to produce error-free forms, correspondence, and related legal work product
  • Prepare and represent clients at USCIS interviews
  • Other tasks as required to meet client and firm needs

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar admission in any U.S. state (Florida admission preferred).
  • Ability to analyze complex immigration matters and develop effective legal strategies independently.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an office environment and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
  • Minimum 4 - 5 years in immigration law and related legal issues, in a multi-attorney or high-volume practice.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Strong command of family-based, asylum, removal defense, and waiver matters
  • Strong legal writing and courtroom advocacy skills
  • Experience with detained cases and removal defense strongly preferred
  • Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Clear, confident communication skills with clients and colleagues
  • A calm, solutions-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Federal litigation experience a plus
  • Federal Habeas Corpus litigation experience a plus
  • Proficiency with cloud-based immigration case management systems
