Job Summary:We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Immigration Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will assist in managing a diverse caseload of immigration matters, providing expert legal guidance to clients navigating complex immigration processes. Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Draft, review, and file various immigration petitions, applications, and legal documents with precision and clarity.
- Assist in managing client communications, gathering necessary documentation, and preparing clients for interviews or hearings.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on cases involving estate planning, family law, landlord-tenant issues, and other legal areas as needed.
- Support litigation efforts by preparing pleadings, discovery requests, and conducting legal analysis of case facts.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure all deadlines are met in accordance with court procedures and client needs.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay current on changes in immigration law and related legal fields.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the state bar preferred.
- Prior experience or internship in a law office setting with exposure to immigration law is highly desirable.
- Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise legal documents and correspondence.
- Knowledge of various legal disciplines including estate planning, environmental law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, landlord-tenant law, family law, and litigation is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of clients and handle multiple priorities efficiently.
