We're Hiring: Associate Immigration AttorneySwagatUSA, LLC | Chicago, Illinois
Build Your Career. Make an Impact. Grow With Us.
At SwagatUSA, we believe immigration law is about more than petitions, applications, and legal procedures. It's about transforming lives, strengthening families, empowering businesses, and helping individuals pursue extraordinary opportunities.
We are a growing, established immigration law firm serving individuals, families, entrepreneurs, professionals, and businesses across the United States.
As we enter our next phase of growth, we're looking for an Associate Immigration Attorney who shares our commitment to excellence, compassion, and meaningful client advocacy.
We're not simply looking for someone to process cases. We're looking for a future leader—someone who is intellectually curious, takes initiative, embraces responsibility, and wants to grow professionally alongside our firm.
What You'll Do:
As an Associate Attorney, you will work on a diverse range of immigration matters, with opportunities to develop expertise in:
- Employment-Based Immigration: H-1B, L-1, O-1, EB-1A, EB-1C, EB-2 NIW, PERM labor certifications, and other business immigration matters.
- Family-Based Immigration: Adjustment of status, consular processing, waivers, naturalization, and family petitions.
- Humanitarian Immigration: VAWA, U visas, T visas, asylum, and other humanitarian relief.
- Removal Defense: Immigration court proceedings, motions, legal briefs, and representation before immigration authorities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Independently managing assigned cases while collaborating with experienced attorneys and paralegals.
- Conducting legal research and developing thoughtful, creative case strategies.
- Drafting persuasive petitions, legal briefs, motions, and responses to RFEs and NOIDs.
- Communicating directly with clients and providing clear, compassionate legal guidance.
- Preparing clients for interviews, hearings, and other immigration proceedings.
- Identifying potential legal issues proactively and developing solutions before problems escalate.
- Maintaining high standards of accuracy, organization, responsiveness, and professional responsibility.
- Collaborating with the team to improve processes, strengthen client service, and contribute to the firm's continued growth.
Who We're Looking for:
We value attitude, initiative, judgment, and accountability as much as technical legal experience.
Our ideal candidate is someone who:
- Is admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction or is awaiting admission.
- Has experience or a demonstrated interest in U.S. immigration law.
- Possesses strong legal research, analytical, and persuasive writing skills.
- Takes ownership of assignments and follows through without requiring constant supervision.
- Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and understands the importance of accuracy in immigration matters.
- Is resourceful, solution-oriented, and comfortable tackling unfamiliar legal challenges.
- Communicates professionally and empathetically with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Welcomes constructive feedback and actively seeks opportunities to improve.
- Is collaborative, dependable, and committed to the success of the entire team.
- Has an entrepreneurial mindset and an interest in developing professional relationships, building expertise, and contributing to business development.
