Responsibilities:
  • Draft, analyze and negotiate technology-related agreements such as software-as-a-service agreements, software license agreements, hardware development, manufacture and sale agreements, joint development agreements, IT consulting agreements and other similar agreements.
  • Monitor and track changes in relevant U.S. and global consumer privacy laws such as CCPA and the other U.S. state comprehensive consumer privacy laws that have recently been enacted, and GDPR and the other EU comprehensive consumer privacy laws that have recently been enacted.
  • Review, analyze, draft and negotiate transactional privacy documents such as data protection agreements
  • Provide guidance to internal teams on all aspects of data protection, data security, vendor management, and cybersecurity regulations
  • Review and grade Rikka Academy student contract drafting assignments and help Charlyn prepare for lessons
  • Assist senior lawyers to provide advice to clients to ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements
  • Actively support the CEO in growing Rikka in terms of revenue, profitability, size, and reputation, including assisting with growing the Rikka Law, Rikka Academy, Rikka Government and Rikka Insights brands.
  • Assist with other matters as assigned by the senior legal team

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school
  • Must be admitted to practice in a U.S. State, with preferences for DC, VA, NY and CA
  • 3+ years of experience in technology transactions and privacy law, including contract drafting, analysis and negotiation
  • Excellent legal research skills and knowledge of current privacy laws
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and creative thinking
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Compensation and Benefits:
The anticipated annual salary range is $110,000 to $135,000. You are also eligible for bonuses and incentives of up to 10% of your base salary.
