Job Summary:
A Mission Driven Law Firm is a mission driven law firm, dedicated to helping Democrats win, citizens vote, and progressives make change, with offices in Washington, D.C. and Seattle, Washington. We are currently seeking a Political Law Associate in our Washington, D.C. office.

Compensation:
Salary commensurate with class year, ranging from $215,000 to $250,000.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Working collaboratively with partners and associates on a wide spectrum of political law matters, including corporate, non-profit, campaign, PAC, Super PAC, political party, ethics, investigative, confirmation, and litigation-related representations.
  • Research ballot access, voter registration, vote-by-mail laws.
  • Review polls, scripts, ads, mail, robocalls, etc.
  • Review communications for campaign finance, I.P., and other concerns.
  • Draft and respond to FEC and other administrative complaints and represent clients during ethics investigations.
  • Advise on matters related to federal, state and local campaign finance, lobbying, pay-to-play, and ethics law.
  • Negotiate contracts.
  • Advise on day- to- day campaign and non-profit compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of political law, regulatory and/or litigation experience preferred. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Political, campaign, government, and/or government affairs experience is considered a plus.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and be in good standing or be eligible to waive in.

Work Environment:
  • Position will operate on a hybrid schedule in a professional office environment and is expected to work in office at least three (3) days a week (currently Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Travel is required.
  • Position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
  • Position requires that the employee be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.

Physical Demands:
  • This position is primarily a sedentary position.  However, some duties and responsibilities may require the employee to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, occasionally move about to access office equipment, file cabinets, etc.
  • May require employee to carry or lift items weighing up to 10 pounds.
