The Role:Free Market Health is hiring a full-time experienced attorney to provide legal support and guidance relating to health care privacy, technology and contracting matters. Reporting to the CAO, the AGC will provide guidance in maintaining compliance with government laws and regulations, as well as the Company's policies and standards. You will initiate negotiations, handle complex drafting, approvals and ongoing monitoring of the Company's contractual agreements to maximize business relationships and opportunities. This position is highly collaborative and will work with our pharmacy operations, technology and growth/business development teams.
The AGC will provide written and oral advice directly to executive management and/or their designees in complex and rapidly evolving areas of the law; analyze and provide legal guidance on a wide range of contractual, regulatory and operational matters; provide clear, succinct, and actionable written advice to key executive stakeholders that reflects full understanding of the pertinent operations and legal landscape.
What You'll Do:
- Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Advice and counsel to executive management on contractual matters, including issues arising primarily from alliances and partnerships with pharmacies; Strategic analysis of available alternatives and associated legal risks; Drafts, analyzes, and negotiates contracts and complex agreements; and Represents the Company in negotiations arising from contractual relationships and/or performance
- Strategic Legal Counseling: In collaboration with the CAO and Chief Pharmacy Officer, assists in development of business strategies within legal constraints for pharmacy operations, pharmacy strategy and pharmacy success
- External Representation: Represents the Company's legal interests by interfacing with opposing counsel; Supports clients in managing communications with external parties in areas of conflict
What We're Looking For:
- A law degree and licensed to practice under at least one state bar
- Minimum 7 years' experience as an attorney working in highly regulated contracting required
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations, privacy, and technology
- Demonstrated expertise in advising clients in a complex regulatory environment
- Demonstrated leadership as an individual contributor within a legal department or other organization
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer
- Ability to follow instructions, be flexible/versatile, and work independently
