Position Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the General Counsel and the organization on a variety of legal matters.
  • Perform job duties consistent with legal and regulatory requirements, and A Hospitals & Health Care Company's values, standards, culture, and business practices.
  • Provide legal direction and supervision to clinical and business units.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts consistent with A Hospitals & Health Care Company's strategic objectives.
  • Explain A Hospitals & Health Care Company's positions, and negotiate with outside parties on regulatory and legal disputes, including settlements.
  • Serve as a legal representative for A Hospitals & Health Care Company in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, trials and other outside legal matters.
  • Monitor and manage outside counsel.
  • Draft policy changes, as required.
  • Anticipates and mitigates potential legal problems within the organization and develops strategies to avoid litigation and reduce potential areas of risk.
  • Strategically leads various legal projects and negotiates workable solutions to complex legal issues.

Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Jurisprudence from an accredited law school.
  • Florida law license and Bar membership in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an attorney with emphasis in corporate and regulatory law within the healthcare industry.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while keeping a focus on the details.
  • Substantial experience in preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents.
  • Broad knowledge of the legal issues encountered by healthcare systems.
