The Opportunity 
We are seeking an Associate General Counsel to help grow and scale our legal and compliance functions. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge legal issues at the intersection of technology and healthcare, directly impacting our ability to expand access to quality care to vulnerable populations. You will be a foundational member of a growing legal team, reporting directly to the General Counsel, taking on a broad range of responsibilities and working closely with leadership to shape the future of A Hospitals & Health Care Company.

What You'll Do:
Commercial & Transactional:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including physician contracts, payor agreements and vendor contracts.
  • Oversee M&A and manage due diligence processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related questions from internal teams.

Compliance & Regulatory:
  • Develop and maintain compliance materials for our operations in various jurisdictions.
  • Manage responses to audits and support compliance escalations.
  • Partner with the product team to conduct risk assessments for our AI products and new service lines.

Corporate & Employment:
  • Manage corporate governance matters.
  • Provide counsel on HR and employment, including policy updates, performance management, and litigation.
  • Work on credentialing, licensing, and immigration issues.

What You Have:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and an active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state (California preferred).
  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience, with a preference for in-house experience at a high-growth healthcare technology company.
  • Expertise in healthcare regulations (e.g. HIPAA, Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback Statute).
  • Broad-based experience with commercial contracts, corporate governance, and employment law (a bonus).
  • A pragmatic, business-oriented approach to problem-solving and a passion for innovation.
  • Candidates located in the Los Angeles area preferred.
