The Associate General Counsel Consumer Privacy, AI & Product role is a critical addition to our legal team and will report to our Chief Financial Officer and work collaboratively with our Head of Legal and in-house Estate Planning attorneys. You will be the in-house expert on consumer privacy law and usage of AI relating to product development, marketing, and advertising, as well as supporting the negotiation of commercial contracts, strategic partnerships, and day-to-day legal operations (our legal intake tool). This role is for someone passionate about technology, privacy, AI, and the law, and who is looking to take ownership of their work and make a significant impact.

You are ready to take on the responsibility of owning the privacy domain within the company and are excited about the opportunity to support a dynamic legal function. You have a knack for simplifying complex legal concepts and aligning legal strategies with business objectives.

About the role:
With support from the Legal team, you will:
- Lead the company's privacy program, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including advice and counseling on artificial intelligence.
- Be the subject matter expert for artificial intelligence at the company and help A Digital Estate Planning Platform become the leader in artificial intelligence in estate planning solutions.
- Help operationalize privacy and introduce scalable solutions to improve management of privacy tickets, data records, PIAs, and other privacy projects.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks throughout the product lifecycle, proposing adjustments or alternative solutions, as necessary.
- Collaborate with our in-house Legal team on estate planning product development that fosters innovation while managing risk.
- Collaborate with our commercial team on privacy and artificial intelligence standards for vendor and customer agreements.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant legal experience, with a strong focus on privacy law.
- Experience in technology or product development within a legal framework.
- Proven track record of managing commercial contracts and strategic partnerships.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future.
