Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service by being responsive, compassionate, and proactive to ensure a positive experience for clients
  • Assist clients in evaluating their needs, exploring their legal options, and developing strategies aligned with their objectives
  • Prepare legal documents under the supervision of a qualified attorney, including pleadings, motions, agreements, contracts, and orders, in collaboration with our legal team
  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding towards clients facing challenging situations
  • Balance empathy with appropriate professional distance and differentiate legal issues from emotional matters to best serve the interests of clients
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve individual, client, and firm goals
  • Adhere strictly to organizational legal procedures and deadlines to ensure the timely and accurate completion of tasks

Qualifications:
  • Possession of a valid North Carolina law license. (We can help you get sworn in, but you must have the license in hand.)
  • A true commitment to using your education to serve clients, children, and families
  • Ability to communicate effectively, specifically in situations involving a high degree of emotion and stress
  • A demonstrated interest in representing clients in all potential phases of family law, including hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Desire to develop and refine courtroom litigation skills
  • A commitment to helping children and families achieve stability by identifying goals, developing a strategic plan to achieve those goals, and implementing the plan in a proactive way
  • Ability to manage some independent cases and to assist senior attorneys on complex cases
  • Ability to meet clear, established work standards for timekeeping, client communication, document production, and case management
  • Professional, friendly demeanor that is an asset to the positive workplace culture that we've worked hard to build
  • Ability to handle cases in Johnston, Wake, and Harnett Counties
  • Valid North Carolina Notary Public, or the ability to obtain it immediately
