We are hiring Associate Counsel to be a critical member of a growing Legal and Compliance team at A Mental Health Care Company. The Associate Counsel will report to A Mental Health Care Company's General Counsel and work closely with the Head of Legal and A Mental Health Care Company's Compliance Officer on a variety of topics, helping to navigate complex and challenging issues. Associate Counsel will provide interpretive guidance necessary for the rapidly expanding business, and will also be responsible for taking the lead on payor/partnership contract negotiations and assisting with other fast-paced legal initiatives. This person will apply their knowledge of the healthcare industry as well as their strong ability to communicate, issue spot and problem solve with the goal of making mental healthcare work for everyone.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Valid license to practice law.
  • Member of the bar in good standing.
  • Meet applicable state requirements to practice as an in-house corporate attorney.
  • 8+ years of law firm, in-house or equivalent experience (i.e., business role, legal consultant)
  • Healthcare regulatory experience
  • Exceptional federal and state regulatory research and interpretive guidance skills
  • Strong contract negotiation experience
  • Strong communication skills that can bridge the gap between legal/compliance and the business to find the right solution

Preferred:
  • Telehealth provider regulatory experience
  • Experience collaborating closely with Compliance
  • Medicare Advantage and/or Medicaid legal experience
  • Experience negotiating Provider Network Agreements and/or Value Based Contracts
  • Privacy and security experience (i.e., Business Associate Agreements and other data privacy legal issues/state consumer privacy laws).
  • Telephone Consumer Privacy Act (TCPA) experience
