The Associate Counsel, DTC & Privacy will handle a variety of engaging legal issues working alongside an accomplished team around the globe. This role will serve as a key legal partner providing hands‑on support to the VF Digital Technology team, brand digital and marketing teams, Human Resources, Indirect Procurement, Tax, Treasury, Supply Chain, and other organizations as necessary. The primary responsibility of the Associate Counsel, DTC & Privacy is to advise on and negotiate technology transactions that support VF's DTC and digital operations while appropriately managing legal and commercial risk.

- Provide legal advice and guidance to DTC brand teams and other VF functions
- Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of complex contracts and other legal documents
- Identify and manage legal risks, including developing and implementing risk‑management strategies
- Conduct legal research and stay current on legal and regulatory changes that may impact the company
- Proactively identify and resolve legal issues, offering practical and creative solutions
- Communicate legal information clearly and effectively to both legal and non‑legal audiences
We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you'll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and 3-5 years of legal experience is required.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing
- Strong background in contract law, including negotiating technology agreements
- Familiarity with data privacy and data security issues in commercial transactions (e.g., data processing agreements, cross‑border data transfers)
- Proven ability to manage complex legal projects and transactions while meeting deadlines
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong legal drafting and documentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Experience in a corporate setting preferred
