We're looking for an Assistant General Counsel in Raleigh, NC to join us in fulfilling our mission, while demonstrating our shared values of excellence, improvement, and connection. As part of our legal team, you will do varied, meaningful work from the start: negotiating agreements, researching legal and regulatory issues, supporting audits, and advising on business projects. Your Responsibilities:

Provide legal counsel, support, and guidance on applicable federal and state laws and regulations
Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor contracts and non-disclosure agreements
Review marketing materials, social media postings, and customer communications for compliance with applicable laws
Conduct legal research and advise the business on regulatory compliance matters in connection with ongoing business projects and initiatives
Respond to regulatory and customer audits
Partner with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and customer needs
Monitor new legislative and regulatory requirements

Your qualifications:

JD from an accredited law school
Member in good standing of at least one state bar
2-5 years legal experience at a law firm, regulatory agency or in-house legal department, doing progressively more challenging work
Inclusive and open mindset

Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Team player, dedicated to maintaining meaningful collaborative relationships with both internal and external constituencies

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in insurance or the mortgage industry
