Position Overview:We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our Workers' Compensation team. You'll represent insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers before the Workers' Compensation Board, while managing your own caseload and developing litigation strategy.
What You'll Do:
- Attend hearings before the NY Workers' Compensation Board
- Conduct depositions of IME and treating physicians
- Draft appeals, rebuttals, and summations
- Develop negotiation strategies and settle claims
- Communicate case updates to clients and adjusters
- Prepare witnesses and strategize for favorable outcomes
What We're Looking For:
Required:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- Experience in NY Workers Compensation law
- 3+ years' experience in a law firm setting
- Ability to manage cases from start to finish
- Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills
Preferred:
- Knowledge of NY Workers' Compensation Law
- Experience in workers' compensation defense
