The Opportunity:
As a dedicated Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal counsel to assigned clients within A San Antonio-Based Diversified Financial Services Group of Companies. Analyzes legal issues of a routine and moderately complex nature and communicating legal advice. You will engage with business clients to better understand A San Antonio-Based Diversified Financial Services Group of Companies strategic and operational objectives. Collaborates with internal stakeholders within business units and the Chief Legal Office.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What You'll Do:
  • Provides legal counsel to support business objectives and mitigate regulatory, compliance and litigation risk to A San Antonio-Based Diversified Financial Services Group of Companies.
  • Leads routine to moderately complex legal assignments and delivers appropriate solutions.
  • Effectively communicates with internal stakeholders in both verbal and written forms.
  • Monitors and analyzes changes in laws, regulations and industry and advises organizational leadership of such changes as appropriate.
  • Supports senior attorneys with legal questions or issues by leveraging general knowledge and conducting research.
  • Ensures escalation of matters presenting more significant risk to more senior attorneys.
  • If awaiting bar licensure, assignments will be completed under the supervision of a licensed attorney. All legal advice will be provided by a licensed attorney.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school required.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in one state or a territory of the USA OR Must pass the State Bar exam and receive a license to practice law within 10 months of hire date.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
