A busy, established law firm in Park Ridge, Illinois is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its practice. We are looking for someone who is motivated, practical, and ready to jump into a fast-paced environment and take an active role in handling matters.

This is a hands-on position with significant exposure to municipal law, real estate, litigation, and courtroom practice. The associate will work directly with the firm's principal attorney and will have the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility from the outset.

What You'll Do:
  • Handle municipal matters, including ordinance enforcement, zoning and land use, contracts, and general municipal issues.
  • Handle residential and commercial real estate transactions from attorney review through closing.
  • Regularly appear at the Skokie Courthouse for municipal prosecutions, traffic matters, and defense cases.
  • Handle court calls, negotiations, hearings, motions, and case management.
  • Draft pleadings, agreements, ordinances, correspondence, and legal memoranda.
  • Communicate directly with clients, municipal officials, opposing counsel, and other professionals.
  • Work directly with the principal attorney on litigation, transactional, and municipal matters.

In addition to base salary, the associate will have the opportunity to earn additional compensation for business they originate. Candidates who already have an existing or portable book of business are strongly encouraged to apply, and compensation will reflect the candidate's experience and business brought to the firm.

  • Practical, professional, and responsive to clients.
  • Interested in developing clients and building a long-term practice.
  • Experience in municipal law, real estate, traffic, prosecution, or litigation is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right attorney who has a strong work ethic, good judgment, and a willingness to learn.
