About the Role: Harris Beach Murtha Cullina PLLC seeks an energetic, knowledgeable mid-level litigation associate to assist with all types of municipal litigation matters in a thriving and highly productive litigation practice.

The Litigation Associate will have the opportunity to:
  • Obtain significant state and federal litigation and trial experience in a team environment
  • Oversee a significant case load from inception
  • Meet and create contacts with New York State and Federal Court personnel
  • Actively participate in their career development and growth, practically and professionally
  • Argue before State and Federal Courts; Represent our clients in courtroom and mediation/arbitration proceedings
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Be an active research team member to assist clients with various factual and legal issues
  • Collaborate with senior partners on case management and strategy
  • Draft legal documents, i.e. motions, pleadings, memoranda, discovery demands
  • Obtain experience factually researching business and corporate policies, and programs by examining records and transactions underlying business disputes and investigations

Applications are encouraged and desired if you have:
  • 3+ years' experience in litigation required
  • Admission to New York bar required
  • Must have Juris Doctorate degree with an ABA accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of the bar
  • Exceptionally strong writing skills are required
  • Must have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated high level organizational skills for prioritizing workload
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb, process and understand, new information rapidly
  • Must be able to manage competing priorities
  • Maintains high standards of performance
  • Exhibits conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility
