Join the MERANI KAMARA LAW GROUP as a Full-Time Attorney specializing in litigation. This exciting opportunity for those looking to join a fast-paced environment where they can gain real experience quickly. Associates also get ongoing training and support while also managing their own cases throughout the litigation lifecycle.

This onsite position is part of a highly collaborative and professional team. The ideal candidate has a sense of urgency, client focus, and interest in continuously improving their skills and how we deliver services for our clients. Compensation is based on experience and starts at $90,000 for newly licensed attorneys. Candidates that have passed the bar and are awaiting admission would start at $75k with the ability for a raise to $90k upon admission. Attorneys are also eligible for discretionary bonuses in their first year based on performance with clarity in what the expectations are from day 1.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Core Litigation Functions
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and proposed judgments.
  • Review evidentiary materials and case files to identify key facts and legal issues.
  • Assist with court filings, document preparation, and general litigation support.

Legal Research and Analysis
  • Conduct legal research using recognized legal research tools and platforms.
  • Prepare summaries of case law, statutes, and legal authorities.

Case and Document Management
  • Organize and maintain case files to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Support e-filing and document management processes.
  • Utilize Excel and other tools to track case materials, deadlines, and deliverables.

Quality Control and Execution
  • Review and finalize work product to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm standards.
  • Handle assignments independently, including tasks with limited direction.
  • Manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with attorneys and staff to support ongoing litigation matters.
  • Receive and apply feedback constructively to improve work product.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication across the team.

Requirements and Skills:
Qualifications:
  • 0-2 years of experience. Must be licensed to practice law in New York or pending admission.
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite at our NYC office 5 days a week.
  • Strong interest in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment.
  • Experience or familiarity with drafting pleadings, motions, and legal documents.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools, document management systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to respond well to feedback.
  • Ability to pass all required background checks and standard licensure verification (if applicable).
