We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our growing team at Friedman Schuman Layser, PC.! As our firm continues to expand, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled associate attorney with 1-3 years' experience to support our litigation department. This role provides the opportunity to work on high-impact cases involving medical malpractice, product liability, construction accidents, and victims' rights, alongside an experienced team of attorneys, while also offering strong opportunities for career growth within a firm that values professional development.

Role and Responsibilities: As an Associate Attorney with Friedman Schuman Layser, P.C., you will:
  • Draft and Review Legal Documents: Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Develop Your Own Book of Business: Through mentorship and utilizing the firm's network, hone your business development skills to attract and retain clients.
  • Conduct Legal Research: Perform in-depth legal research to support case strategies and provide comprehensive legal opinions.
  • Assist with Case Management: Support partner in managing cases, including preparing for depositions, hearings and trials.
  • Conduct depositions: Prepare witnesses for depositions, ensuring they understand the process and the key points of their testimony. Attend, defend and take depositions. Analyze deposition transcripts to identify strengths and weaknesses in the case and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Identify Additional Duties: Proactively identify and undertake other duties relevant to the role of an associate, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in PA. NJ also preferred.
  • 1-3 years of litigation experience.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
