Description:
The Opportunity:We are hiring a mid-level associate for our New Orleans litigation team. We especially welcome experience in casualty defense, construction, or maritime and admiralty law. If your background touches any of these areas, we want to hear from you.
Practice Areas:
- Casualty and Insurance Defense: general and premises liability, trucking and transportation claims, and workers' compensation defense for insurers and self-insured employers.
- Construction: surety, defect, contract, and professional liability disputes involving owners, contractors, and design professionals.
- Maritime and Admiralty: Jones Act seaman claims, Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act (LHWCA) matters, vessel allisions, and waterfront property damage.
- Each group also handles a broad range of commercial litigation.
What You'll Do:
You will handle cases from intake to verdict. That means drafting pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions; taking and defending depositions; working with experts; and preparing for mediations, hearings, and trials. You will also communicate directly with clients and carriers. The work is substantive, the responsibility is real, and senior partners are within arm's reach from day one.
What We're Looking For:
We want three to six years of civil litigation experience and an appetite for complex disputes. Beyond the résumé, we look for sharp writing, sound judgment, and the drive to become a first-chair trial lawyer. Trial experience, even limited, is a plus. Louisiana bar admission is required. Admission in Texas or Mississippi is a plus.
