We are a boutique law firm that is looking for a highly motivated individual that will have strong legal research and writing skills, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for providing exceptional client service.

This position is either an entry level attorney position, or someone that has between one (1) to five (5) years' experience in Family Law or Bankruptcy Law.

As an Associate Attorney, you will work closely with partners Heather Kinser and Andrew Dickerson.

The primary practice area for this position is Family Law.

We help our clients work through the difficulties associated with divorce, co-parenting, post decree, child support, paternity, etc.

We want a candidate who is collaborative, caring, patient, detail-oriented, and passionate.

The candidate we are looking for will be good at communicating their needs to the client, as well as to A Criminal Justice Attorney staff.

The candidate will want to litigate, which includes an appearance in court multiple times per month.

Like all litigation positions, this position requires the ability to communicate well in writing through email and other correspondence as well as motion practice.

There are also opportunities to practice Bankruptcy Law as well, depending on the individual's interest and experience.

This would include preparing various Motions, Objections to Plan, Notices, and Orders associated with representation of clients in bankruptcy matters.

Filing both Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy's.

As well as attending various court hearings associated with representation of clients in bankruptcy matters.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the state bar Indiana
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Commitment to providing high-quality legal services with integrity and professionalism
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to use Microsoft Teams and OneNote, Zoom, and Webex
  • Ability to navigate and use Adobe Acrobat

Responsibilities:
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties
  • Attend meetings, depositions, mediations, and court appearances as needed
  • Appearing in Court to argue on behalf of the client on contested matters on a regular basis
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues
  • Assist with case strategy and preparation for hearings, trials, and other proceedings
  • Stay current on legal developments and trends in relevant practice areas
  • Track and record time for work billed to client matters
