Responsibilities:
Our ideal candidate has 2+ years' experience in family law and has knowledge of Minnesota procedures. The candidate also has strong attention to detail and follow-up skills. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Drafting motions, affidavits, legal arguments, testimony, and trial briefs
- Hearing preparation
- Case consultation and strategizing with the client
- Communicating with opposing parties, courts, and others
- Performing case law research to identify and apply relevant judicial decisions, statutes, etc.
- Investigating the facts of a case
- Reviewing and monitoring new and updated laws and regulations
- Crafting substantive correspondence
- Editing and approving paralegal-crafted documents
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- 2+ years' experience in family law
- Admitted to Minnesota Bar
- Expresses sensitivity to others – can make clients feel comfortable sharing personal information relating to their cases
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Open-minded and willing to learn
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Can quickly adapt to changing deadlines
- Ability to manage many cases at one time
- Technologically savvy
- Extensive use of Microsoft Office products
