A well-established, family-oriented law firm with a proud history dating back to 1912 is seeking three Associate Attorneys to join its thriving practice in Denver and/or Lincolnton, North Carolina. We also have an office in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, by appointment only which we intend to expand.We are looking for motivated attorneys who value the opportunity to build a long-term legal career in a traditional, collegial law-firm environment located in a small southern town. Associates will work closely with experienced partners and receive hands-on mentoring and professional development, supported by an exceptionally qualified and experienced staff. Many of our staff have been with the firm over twenty years and are a vital resource to new attorneys. Our attorneys have been with the firming ranging from 10 to over 50 years.
Areas of Practice:
Associates will have the opportunity to assist with a variety of matters, including:
- Residential real estate transactions
- Estate planning
- Estate administration and probate
- Family law
- Client consultations and general legal matters related to these practice areas

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to practice law in North Carolina
- Strong academic and professional credentials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Professional demeanor and commitment to client service
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff
- A desire to establish a long-term practice and become an integral part of an established law firm
The firm is extremely involved in the community and has a long storied history in both legal servce and public service. Charles A. Jonas and Charles R. Jonas were both members of Congress. Johnathan Rhyne was in the North Carolina House of Representatives for many years. Former Partner W. Todd Pomeroy was appointed by the Governor as a Superior Court Judge for the State of North Carolina and is now the Chief Superior Court Judge in our district. Johnathan Rhyne, a current partner of the firm, was recently selected to be a Superior Court Judge handling complex financial cases in family law court.
Attorneys in the firm have or currently serve on bank boards, chamber boards and school boards. Firm members are or have been involved in Rotary, Downtown Development, Hospice, acted as Church Trustees, and worked with the Lincoln County Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The list goes on and on. Two of our current partners are Board Certified in Family Law. We strive to support our community and culture.
For more than a century, our first priority has been to serve individuals, families, and businesses throughout the community. Most of our attorneys originated from this area and a third and fourth generation Jonas attorney still works at the firm.
