Duties:
  • Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis to support case strategies across various practice areas such as estate planning, estate administration, charitable giving, and small business planning.
  • Draft and review legal documents including trusts, wills, contracts, operating agreements, court documents, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
  • Support contested matters by organizing evidence, and participating in discovery processes.
  • Engage in negotiations with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Draft court documents for estate administration proceedings, work with clients to marshal assets, satisfy decedent's obligations, and make distributions to beneficiaries.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal developments to ensure compliance and strategic advantage.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with 3+ years of experience as a practicing attorney with New York State bar admission.
  • Proven experience in law office settings demonstrating familiarity with legal research tools like LexisNexis.
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with diverse practice areas such as estate planning, estate administration, charitable giving, and small business planning or general litigation is highly desirable.
  • Effective negotiation skills combined with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively
  • Strong research capabilities complemented by analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Legal administrative experience that supports efficient case handling and client service.
