Job Summary:
We are seeking an associate litigation attorney to handle contested matters in Kane County, McHenry County, and Cook County. We handle a number of interesting and difficult cases in all areas of Family Law, Guardianships, Probate, and Trusts.

All attorneys interested in litigation may apply. Due to the nature of our litigation, this position cannot be remote.

Duties:
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support case strategies and legal opinions.
  • Draft clear, precise legal documents including pleadings, contracts, memoranda, and correspondence tailored to each case's needs.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, negotiations, and client meetings by organizing case files and evidence.
  • Engage in client consultations to gather information and provide updates on case progress while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Support litigation efforts by managing discovery processes, filing motions, and tracking case deadlines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases.
  • Maintain accurate records of all legal activities and administrative tasks within the law office's case management systems.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission or eligibility to sit for the bar exam.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce well-organized legal documents quickly and accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of clients while maintaining professionalism.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
