Haddon, Morgan and Foreman, P.C. is seeking an associate attorney with 2 to 5 years of experience to join our growing civil litigation practice. This is an opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility early, work closely with experienced trial lawyers, and develop a practice in high-stakes, complex civil matters. HMF is a trial-focused law firm and associates gain substantially more in-court experience than do associates at similar firms. With a 1,600 hour billable requirement, the firm promotes the development of an efficient, sustainable, and balanced practice.About the Practice:
Our civil practice focuses on three core areas:
- Commercial litigation: handling business disputes including contract, fiduciary duty, and ownership claims.
- Plaintiffs'-side legal malpractice: representing individuals and businesses harmed by attorney negligence and breaches of fiduciary duty.
- Trust and estate litigation: litigating contested probate, trust, and fiduciary matters.
- Our cases are demanding and often involve substantial damages, sophisticated opposing counsel, and complex factual records. Associates are directly involved in every phase of litigation, from case evaluation through trial and appeal.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
- Take and defend depositions and manage written discovery.
- Work with clients, experts, and witnesses to develop case strategy.
- Assist with hearing and trial preparation, and participate in court appearances.
- Manage case deadlines and contribute to case assessment and strategy discussions.
Qualifications:
- J.D. and active license to practice law in Colorado (or eligibility for prompt admission).
- 2–5 years of legal experience; civil litigation experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters.
- Interest in commercial, legal malpractice, or trust and estate litigation is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience and the position is bonus eligible. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance; 401(k) with employer contribution; paid time off; bar dues and CLE; and parking.
