Description:
Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated, bilingual (fluent in both Spanish and English), Associate Attorney to join our multi-practice firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling cases in litigation, consultations, legal research, drafting legal documents, and providing support to senior attorneys. This is a full-time position with working hours from 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Duties:
- Conduct legal research using various tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts
- Handle, primarily, family law cases and some immigration cases
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other attorneys
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Represent clients in court proceedings
- Handle administrative tasks related to legal matters
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar association
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English and Spanish
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Prior experience in litigation, legal research, and drafting legal documents
- Proficiency in using legal research tools like Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Experience in Family Law and Immigration law
- Experience in negotiating settlements
- Familiarity with various areas of law such as contract law, civil litigation, estate planning, or criminal law
